Through research on the following hot topics: GameFi airdrops like Dropee and GameClub are pushing token rewards to drive user acquisition, while Fantasy Top shut down, admitting its trading card model wasn't built for crypto. Meanwhile, major game showcases are lined up for June, and studios are actively hiring for mobile and live-service roles.
My take: The GameFi space is still struggling to find a sustainable model. Airdrops bring short-term hype but don't fix retention. Fantasy Top's failure shows that forcing crypto onto traditional game mechanics often backfires.
I predict more consolidation: successful projects will focus on actual gameplay first, then layer in crypto. Public sentiment is cautious—excitement for airdrops but growing skepticism about long-term value.
